Vans Park Series Begins 2018 Pro Tour in São Paulo, Brazil

YouTube Preview Image2018’s Vans Park Series Pro Tour kicks off in São Paulo, Brazil at a brand new skatepark next weekend where Select Men and Women VPS Pros will go head to head with Challengers, Wildcards and regional hopefuls pushing for a piece of the season’s first VPS podium.

VPS tour vets Oskar Rozenberg Hallberg (2017 Men’s Park Terrain World Champion), Ivan Federico, Jack Fardell, Cory Juneau and others. Florianópolis’ Pedro Barros will defend his 2016 and 20117 VPS Brazil titles and blaze against top contenders Tom Schaar, Alex Sorgente, and new Wildcard Fernando Bramsmark looking to claim a 3-peat in his home county.

The Brazil stop is also the newest addition to the expanded 2018 VPS Women’s Tour, open for registration to all women’s competitors to compete against Select Pros such as defending 2017 World Champion Nora Vasconcellos, former champ Brighton Zeuner, Lizzie Armanto, Jordyn Barratt and Brazil native Yndiara Asp. Prospective competitors are encouraged to enter here.

Located in the heart of São Paulo – the biggest city in Brazil and in the region—Vans will debut its brand-new park, a public, free access built-to-spec skatepark with over 2,800 square feet of never before skated park terrain, featuring a 9 1/2 foot deep end, multiple transfers, extensions, a center volcano, ledges, rails, and smooth concrete coping all around.

The 2018 Vans Park Series Pro Tour will be broadcast live in English and Portuguese for free on ETNlive.com, the ETN app, and vansparkseries.com. YouTube Preview ImageVans returned to the legendary Hastings Park in Vancouver, Canada for the 4th stop of the 2017 Vans Park Series. Every contest seems to get better, and this year Canada was no different. This was Pedro Barros first contest on Canadian soil, and he didn’t disappoint the rabid skate fans of Vancouver. The skating was next level, and everyone was putting together video part tricks in their contest runs, but at the end it was Tom Schaar 3rd, Karl Berglind 2nd, and Pedro Barros 1st, claiming his second win of 2017.

Vans Park Series Sets Sights on Shanghai for 2017 World Championships

VPS 2017 ChampionshipsVans Park Series has announced that Shanghai, China will play host to the 2017 VPS World Championships for men and women. With its central mission to inspire youth and grow participation worldwide, the Vans Park Series is honored to bring elite park terrain competition and the creative culture of skateboarding to China on September 23rd in Asia’s first and only official VPS-certified temporary park terrain competition course design.

The next stop for the Vans Park Series on the road to Shanghai takes place at Kroksbäck Skatepark in Malmö, Sweden on May 26th with the inaugural Men’s and Women’s VPS Europa Continental Championships and May 27th with the third of five 2017 VPS Men’s Pro Tour qualifier events. The Kroksbäck Skatepark is the world’s first VPS-certified permanent park terrain competition course and was donated in 2016 by the Vans Park Series to the community of Malmö, Sweden on the occasion of the inaugural park terrain skateboarding VPS World Championships for leading the world with their progressive support of the city’s youth through public skateboard programming and initiatives. The VPS Continental Championships provide an open path for regional talent to compete alongside qualifying VPS Tour Pros in the World Championships and a chance to earn a spot on the 2018 VPS Pro Tour.

Additionally, in another historic first for global park terrain competition, Vans Park Series is proud to announce the crowning of park terrain skateboarding’s first-ever Men’s and Women’s VPS National Champions for Brazil, Colombia and Chile. The winners from these select South American VPS National Championships are seeded in the official VPS Americas Continental Championships in Huntington Beach, California.

2016 Dew Tour Long Beach Results

Dew Tour Ryan ShecklerThe 2016 Dew Tour presented by Mountain Dew and TEN:The Enthusiast Network took place in Long Beach, California over the weekend with a new twist to skateboarding competition. On Saturday Ryan Sheckler nailed down the most points on four separate skate sections – Tech, Bowl, Rails and Gaps to claim his 15th Dew Tour win during the individual competition. The action continued on Sunday with many of the best skateboarders competing in an all-new Team Challenge which included the same four separate skate zones. In the end, the Blind Skateboards team made up of: TJ Rogers, Micky Papa, Cody McEntire and Trey Wood came out on top with the most points.

In all, nine teams competed which also included heavy hitters from Flip, Plan B, Element, Real, Birdhouse, Toy Machine, Baker and enjoi.
