Barros Wins Vans Skate Park Series Stop 2 in Brazil

Pedros BarrosAfter bailing his previous runs and sitting in 7th place, Pedro Barros turned up the heat and put the peddle to the metal in his fourth and final run to win the second stop of the Vans Skate park Series. It all played out in his hometown of Florinopolis, Brazil where the crowd in attendance fueled his fire and he delivered. Italy’s Ivan Federico held onto second place with a great display of technical ability and style and Kevin Kowalski killed the park in his own unique way and returned to the podium in third place.

Compiled scores from the two Vans Skate Park Series stops has Tom Schaar now sitting in first place in the challenger rankings. The next stop takes place in Vancouver, BC on July 9th.

Tom Schaar Wins 2015 Vans Pool Party

YouTube Preview Image 15-year old Tom Schaar put his diverse skills to work and captured the top spot on the Pro podium at this years Vans Pool Party. Bruno Passos repeated his win in the Masters and Chris Miller threepeated with power and style in the Legends division.

And if you haven’t already seen or heard, Pedros Barros and Matt Boyster broke new ground for skateboarding’s history books and successfully launched and transferred (backside and frontside respectively) over The Combi Pool’s Duncan peninsula following the day’s competition schedule. Insane!

That said, Monster Energy has announced that they’ve brought teen phenom Tom Schaar on board with their skate team as he gains momentum with age, size, and abilities in the vert realm. Indeed, the future of vert and bowlriding is gaining steam.
