In case that you missed it, we strongly suggest that you take a seat and have a good read through this interview that Chops did with Anthony Van Engelen. In their discussion, they talk about AVE’s beginnings in Orange County, meeting Jason Dill, The DC years, The Alien years, video parts, launching Fucking Awesome and Hockey from a fledgling tee shirt hobby, and so much more.
Gone are the days where Playboy magazine was a monthly periodical that you garner your attention for its beautiful nude women gracing its cover and interior pages. Now we get alternative culture pieces like this one with Jaon Dill and his thoughts on skateboarding industry, starting up the FA brand in 2009 and acting for a Netflix series. Rob Brink delivers the goods.
The Vans Skate team set off the first stop of the Summer 2016 Vans Pro Skate Tour with a heavy session for legendary Uprise Skateshop on “Chicago’s front yard” at Grant Park. Johnny Layton sparked things up to prove, in the words of Thrasher Magazine’s Michael Burnett, “God damn right he’s still got it.” From there our crew systemically dismantled the park with a barrage of bangers for the delight of a rabid crowd of Chi-Town locals, out-of-towners and even Corey Glick’s grandparents. Next stop Westside Skateshop in Lakewood, Ohio this afternoon at 3pm as the boys make their way to Boston for Roll For Rob this weekend.
